Join us for a Winter Pruning Workshop at Whiffletree Farm & Nursery.
The tree pruning workshop will be led by Matt Soltys, operator of The Urban Orchardist, a local consulting, pruning and design business and nursery. After studying biology at University of Guelph and managing Ignatius Farm's community orchard, Matt founded his business in 2021 to share his love of fruit trees and edible landscapes.
Take this chance to learn about pruning fruit trees of various ages and species. The workshop will cover pruning techniques and strategies, how pruning affects tree health and productivity, ideal branch structure, and more.
Also learn grape vine pruning from Whiffletree's Fred Lichty. Unpruned grapes become unruly vines that set too much fruit and take up too much space. Learn how to prune, train and maintain your grapes for quality fruit production and visual appeal in your space.
